Best Table Tennis Tables 2027

Best table tennis tables 2027: we compared 7 models from 159 to 799 euros for basements, garages, gardens and small flats, with top thickness and weight.

Ažurirano

Full-size table tennis tables in this comparison cost 399 to 799 euros, and the price difference depends mostly on the thickness of the top and whether the table may stand outdoors. This guide is for families looking for a table for the basement or garage, for people who want to play in the garden and for club players who want a proper bounce at home. The best table tennis tables 2027 are the Sponeta S 5-73 i as the best indoor table (22 mm top, class B, 539 euros), the HUDORA Game as the most affordable outdoor table (449 euros) and the Cornilleau 500X Outdoor as the outdoor table with the most features (799 euros). We compared seven models with live prices as of 29 October 2026, from 159.00 to 799.00 euros.

Decide where the table will stand first, and only then look at models. The chipboard top of an indoor table on a terrace can absorb moisture and warp, while an outdoor table in a basement gives a weaker bounce than an indoor table for the same money.

How to choose table tennis tables

Every full-size table tennis table has the same playing surface, so models differ in the top, the undercarriage, the wheels and how safely they fold. Those four things also set the price.

Indoor or outdoor table

Indoor table tennis tables have a chipboard top, 16 to 30 mm thick at Sponeta and 12 to 15 mm on cheaper models from other brands. According to the Sponeta 2026 catalogue, such a top must not be exposed to sun or moisture. Outdoor table tennis tables have a melamine top of 3.5 to 10 mm or an aluminium composite top on a galvanised or powder-coated undercarriage. They can stay outside all year, but they need to be secured against wind, and in strong sun the top can warp temporarily. Sponeta openly says that outdoor tables do not reach the playing properties of indoor ones. If you play in an unheated garage or on a covered terrace where there is moisture, get an outdoor table.

Top thickness and EN 14468-1 classes

With table tennis tables, a thicker top gives a better bounce. The European standard EN 14468-1 divides table tennis tables into four classes: A for top-level sport, B for school and club sport, C for high-quality recreation and D for recreation. When a ball is dropped from 30 cm, it must bounce 23 to 26 cm on a class A or B table, 21 cm on class C and 18 cm on class D. ITTF-approved tables in practice have a 25 mm top. For family play, 15 mm indoors or 4 mm outdoors is enough, while a child who trains at a club will prepare better on 22 mm.

Wheels, brakes and folding

All full-size table tennis tables in this comparison are folding compact tables: the halves are raised upright, locked and the table rolls on wheels. If there are children in the house, look for double anti-tip protection or automatic locking and wheels with brakes (the HUDORA Game lists none). On outdoor tables, larger wheels (125 to 200 mm) roll more easily over grass and gravel. Some models, such as the JOOLA Inside J15 and Outdoor J500A, have two separate halves that move independently.

Space and table tennis table dimensions

A tournament table is 274 cm long, 152.5 cm wide and 76 cm high, and the net is 15.25 cm high. For competitions, the ITTF requires a space of at least 14 x 7 m. At home you can play in less, but leave at least one to two metres behind each end line, otherwise you will keep hitting the wall. That is our practical recommendation, not a rule. If you don't have that space, a 148 x 74 cm midi table is a better choice than a full-size table you will rarely unfold.

Playback and accessories

Playback means raising one half of the table upright and playing against it like a wall. All full-size table tennis tables in this comparison have this position. A net is included with most models, and the HUDORA Game, Cornilleau 500X and Sponeta S 5-73 i also have holders for balls and bats. Bats and balls are bought separately, and we covered them in our article on table tennis sets.

1. Sponeta S 5-73 i

Sponeta S 5-73 i indoor table tennis table with a blue top and a light-coloured undercarriage Photo: Sponeta, Amazon

Check on Amazon

The Sponeta S 5-73 i is our pick for most people because for 539 euros you get a 22 mm top and class B under EN 14468-1, the same class the standard specifies for school and club sport. Its bounce falls in the same standard range as class A (23 to 26 cm).

The 3tecWOOD chipboard top sits on a 50 mm frame, and the undercarriage is made of 50 x 30 mm square tubing. With the SMS system, one pull rod releases both safety catches at once, and the table locks automatically in both the playing and storage positions. The four rubber-tyred 100 mm wheels all swivel, and two have brakes. The rear legs have levellers that compensate for uneven floors up to 30 mm. At 91 kg the table is heavy, but that mass adds to its stability during play.

Top 22 mm 3tecWOOD, 50 mm frame
EN 14468-1 class B (school and club sport)
Wheels 4 x 100 mm, 2 with brakes
Locking SMS, one pull rod
Folded 164 x 72 x 156 cm
Weight 91 kg
Accessories Primus 4.0 net, ball and bat holder
Price 539.00 €

Pros: club class B and 22 mm top, very stable, levellers for uneven floors, simple locking with one pull rod.

Cons: 91 kg is hard to carry into a basement, indoor only, almost no product description on Amazon.de.

Our opinion: If the table stands in a dry basement or garage, this is the table you won't have to replace when your child joins a club. For occasional family play, the JOOLA Inside J15 is enough.

2. JOOLA Inside J15

Check on Amazon

The JOOLA Inside J15 is the most affordable full-size indoor table in this comparison: 399 euros for a 15 mm top. For a family that plays at weekends that is enough, and the 140 euros you save compared with the Sponeta goes on bats and balls.

Each half stands on four wheels and moves independently, so the table is easy to store against a wall. It has double anti-tip protection and a playback position. According to the Amazon.de description, the table arrives 95% assembled and assembly takes about 20 minutes. A net is included. On its own website JOOLA describes a related Inside 15 model with slightly different data, so here we stuck to the Amazon.de description.

Feature Detail

Top 15 mm
Frame 30 mm, powder-coated metal
Wheels 4 per half
Safety double anti-tip protection
Assembly about 20 minutes, 95% pre-assembled
Accessories net
Price 399.00 €

Pros: low price for a full-size table, halves move separately, anti-tip protection, quick assembly, net included.

Cons: 15 mm is below club level, must not get damp or sit in the sun, net weight not published.

Our opinion: For family recreation in a basement or living room you don't need more. If someone in the house trains at a club, pay extra for the Sponeta S 5-73 i.

3. HUDORA Game

Check on Amazon

The HUDORA Game is the most affordable outdoor table in this comparison and the lightest of the full-size tables whose weight the manufacturer publishes (47.5 kg). For 449 euros you get a 4 mm melamine top that can stand on a terrace or in the garden, and you can also use the table indoors.

The undercarriage is made of galvanised round tubing 25 mm in diameter, and the top's frame is 36 mm high. The table rolls on two swivelling 125 mm twin wheels and locks with hooks. It has a playback position and a holder for 8 balls and 4 bats. HUDORA says it is made in Germany, and Amazon.de lists a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

Feature Detail

Wheels 2 twin wheels, 125 mm
Playing dimensions 274 x 180 x 91 cm (with net)
Weight 47.5 kg
Accessories holder for 8 balls and 4 bats
Warranty 2 years (according to Amazon.de)
Price 449.00 €

Pros: lightest full-size table with a published weight, weatherproof, holder for balls and bats, can also be used indoors.

Cons: the 4 mm top gives a basic bounce, only two wheels, brakes not listed.

Our opinion: A good table for summer games in the garden or at a holiday home. If the table has to survive many years in the sun, the Cornilleau 500X has a thicker top and a 10-year warranty.

4. Cornilleau 500X Outdoor

Check on Amazon

The Cornilleau 500X Outdoor is the most expensive table in this comparison (799 euros) and the outdoor table with the most features. The 6 mm melamine top has a matt MATTOP surface, for which Cornilleau claims 90% less light reflection in sunlight, which matters when you play in the garden in the afternoon.

The 50 mm frame is made of corrosion-resistant Aluzinc. The DSI system locks the table at 16 points and blocks it automatically at 65° when you let go of the handle. The 200 mm wheels cope with grass, two have brakes, and 3D levellers compensate for uneven ground. The table has two score counters and a holder for 6 balls and 4 bats. It is class C and certified by TÜV SÜD with the GS mark. The warranty is 10 years, and the manufacturer supplies spare parts for 20 years.

Weight 66 kg
Warranty 10 years, parts 20 years
Price 799.00 €

Pros: most features among the outdoor tables (score counters, holders, 3D levellers), matt top against glare, large wheels and levellers, 10-year warranty.

Cons: most expensive in the comparison, class C, takes up 167 x 75 cm even when folded.

Our opinion: If the table stays outside all year and you only want to buy once, this is the one. For occasional summer play, the HUDORA Game costs 350 euros less.

5. JOOLA Outdoor J500A

Check on Amazon

The JOOLA Outdoor J500A is the only table in this comparison with an aluminium composite top, 6 mm thick. The top is weatherproof, so the table can stay outside all season. At 519 euros it is 280 euros cheaper than the Cornilleau with the same top thickness.

The table has eight 6-inch (15.24 cm) wheels with brakes, and each half moves on its own. That is practical on grass and gravel, where small wheels get stuck. It has double anti-tip protection, a playback position and levellers for uneven ground. According to JOOLA, the net weight is 62.5 kg and it measures 157 x 60 x 170 cm folded. A net is included.

Feature Detail
Use outdoor
Top 6 mm aluminium composite
Wheels 8 x 6 inch, with brakes
Safety double anti-tip protection
Folded 157 x 60 x 170 cm
Weight 62.5 kg
Accessories net
Price 519.00 €

Pros: weatherproof top, large wheels with brakes, halves move separately, good price for a 6 mm top.

Cons: warranty length not stated, ball holder and score counters not listed, a cover is advisable for winter.

Our opinion: If the table stands on grass from May to October, the large wheels and a weatherproof top matter more here than anything else. For a matt top and a longer warranty, pay more for the Cornilleau.

6. JOOLA World Cup 25-S

JOOLA World Cup 25-S competition table tennis table with a blue top Photo: JOOLA, Amazon

Check on Amazon

The JOOLA World Cup 25-S has a 25 mm top, the same thickness as competition tables. According to the Amazon.de description, it meets class A under EN 14468-1. The listing title says ITTF, but we could not confirm the approval with the manufacturer, so don't take that as a guarantee.

The top sits on a 50 mm frame, and each half has four wheels, two of them with brakes. It has double anti-tip protection and a playback position. For this listing Amazon.de states "keine Herstellergarantie" (no manufacturer's warranty), which means only the seller's statutory warranty applies. A net is not mentioned in the description, so expect that you may need to buy one separately.

Feature Detail
Use indoor
Top 25 mm, 50 mm frame
EN 14468-1 class A (according to Amazon.de)
Wheels 4 per half, 2 with brakes
Safety double anti-tip protection
Warranty statutory only
Price 649.00 €

Pros: competition thickness of 25 mm, thickest top in the comparison, brakes and anti-tip protection.

Cons: no manufacturer's warranty, ITTF approval not confirmed, net may not be included, net weight not published.

Our opinion: For a player who trains several times a week and wants a competition-thickness table at home. For everyone else, the Sponeta S 5-73 i offers class B, a 22 mm top and levellers for 110 euros less.

7. JOOLA Midsize FA-X

Check on Amazon

The JOOLA Midsize FA-X is the only midi table in this comparison and the answer for a flat without a basement. The playing surface is 148 x 74 cm, roughly a quarter of a tournament table, and the height is 71.5 cm. At 159 euros and 11.8 kg, it is a table a child can simply pull out from behind the wardrobe.

Folded, it takes the shape of a suitcase with a handle measuring 74 x 74 x 11 cm. The top is 9 mm MDF on a powder-coated steel frame. A net is included, and there are no wheels because none are needed. The table is for indoor use only and not for serious training.

Feature Detail
Use indoor
Playing surface 148 x 74 cm, height 71.5 cm
Top 9 mm MDF
Folded 74 x 74 x 11 cm, suitcase with handle
Weight 11.8 kg net
Accessories net
Price 159.00 €

Pros: fits behind a wardrobe or under a bed, light, no assembly, lowest price in the comparison.

Cons: small surface, thin top and weaker bounce, indoor only.

Our opinion: For a kids' room, an office or a flat where a 274 cm table would never fit. If you have a garage, 240 euros more gets you a full-size table.

Table tennis table maintenance

Table tennis tables don't need much maintenance. Clean the top with a slightly damp cloth, without harsh cleaning agents. According to the Sponeta catalogue, safety elements, wheels and hinges should be checked at least once a year. On tables with wheels, make sure the brakes are on before playing, especially if children play nearby.

Keep outdoor table tennis tables folded when not in use, with the brakes on and in a sheltered spot, and under a cover in winter. On uneven ground, level the table with the levellers, because even a slight slope changes the bounce. The bounce is higher on a hard surface such as concrete than on parquet or grass. If you want to train more at home, you will find ideas in our article on home gyms.

Conclusion: which table tennis tables should you choose?

For a dry basement or garage, the best choice is the Sponeta S 5-73 i for 539 euros, with a 22 mm top and class B. On a smaller budget, the JOOLA Inside J15 for 399 euros is enough for family play. For the garden, get the HUDORA Game if the table is for summer, or the Cornilleau 500X if it stays outside for years. Full-size table tennis tables need a lot of space, so for a flat consider the JOOLA Midsize FA-X.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of a table tennis table?

A tournament table tennis table is 274 cm long, 152.5 cm wide and 76 cm high, and the net is 15.25 cm high. Midi tables such as the JOOLA Midsize FA-X have a 148 x 74 cm surface. Folded compact full-size tables take up a footprint of about 157 to 167 x 60 to 75 cm (without the net).

How much space do you need for a table tennis table?

For competitions, the ITTF requires a space of 14 x 7 m. At home you can play in less, but with a 274 x 152.5 cm table leave at least one to two metres behind each end line and some room at the sides. That is a practical recommendation. If you don't have that much space, get a midi table.

Can an indoor table stand outside?

No. Manufacturers state that tables that are not weatherproof must not be exposed to sun or moisture, otherwise the chipboard can swell and warp. For a terrace, garden or unheated garage, buy an outdoor table with a melamine or aluminium composite top.

What top thickness is enough?

For occasional family play, 15 mm indoors or 4 mm outdoors is enough. Club players should look at 22 mm (class B), and competition tables have 25 mm. On outdoor tables, a 6 mm top plays better than a thinner one, so it is worth getting if you use the table often.

How heavy is a table tennis table?

The full-size tables in this comparison with a published weight range from 47.5 kg (HUDORA Game) to 91 kg (Sponeta S 5-73 i). That is why they have wheels and fold upright, which makes them easier to move. The JOOLA Midsize FA-X midi table weighs 11.8 kg and is carried like a suitcase.

How much does a good table tennis table cost?

On Amazon.de, a good full-size indoor table costs from about 400 euros (JOOLA Inside J15), and a club class B table about 540 euros. The outdoor tables in this comparison cost from 449 to 799 euros. A midi table for a flat costs about 160 euros.

How we chose

For this comparison, table tennis tables were chosen by where they will be used (indoors, outdoors, small flat) and by price range. We reviewed 11 models available on Amazon.de with delivery to Croatia. We checked specifications in the Sponeta 2026 catalogue and on the JOOLA, HUDORA and Cornilleau websites, and for the JOOLA Inside J15 and World Cup 25-S in the official descriptions on Amazon.de. General advice on classes, bounce and maintenance is based on the Sponeta catalogue, which summarises the EN 14468-1 standard. Prices are live Amazon.de prices as of 29 October 2026 and may change. We left out the JOOLA Black 13i (the top thickness in its description is ambiguous), the Sponeta S 5-73 e (a good outdoor table, but more expensive than the JOOLA J500A) and the KETTLER K1 Outdoor, whose description contradicts itself. We did not physically test the tables.
